Children's and Youth Ministry
New Hopes offers a variety of children's and youth ministries designed to build excitement for being a disciple of Jesus Christ in a positive, fun, and engaging environment! New Hope's multi-generational approach encourages children, youth, and adults to become closer to Christ together.
We are excited to offer Sunday School on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am - 10:15 am for children ages 3 through 12th grade. We begin our morning in the Celebration Center with singing praise songs, receiving offering, and then ending in prayer. We then go to classes for continued interactive and creative learning with amazing teachers! Parents, you are always welcome to be in the class with your child(ren) if they are nervous or need encouragement.
This year, New Hope is enthusiastically using the DIG IN: Life of Jesus curriculum through Group Publishing for our Sunday School curriculum. The DIG IN curriculum creates experiences where kids make discoveries, helping them to take ownership of their faith.
"DIG IN presents the Bible as real and relevant. Kids understand the Bible is not full of distant, irrelevant principles, but is packed with rich meaning that applies to their lives today. DIG IN builds in time for kids to talk to each other to process thoughts and concepts instead of only listening. Verbal participation helps to imprint Bible truths and capitalizes on the reality that for some kids “interacting with my friends” is a key motivator to come to church.'"
Because we believe that Jesus taught us to care for His children and youth, we commit our church to the practice of safe supervision. Our congregation has established a Safe Sanctuary Policy to demonstrate our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth of all the children in our care. You may view our Safe Sanctuary Policy by clicking on the button on the right. Please, know we periodically review, update, and train our teachers and leaders about the Safe Sanctuary Policy.
SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERING
The offering from Sunday School from January through May will go to Heifer Project International. The Goal: Raise enough money to purchase at least a heifer. The cost is $500.
"Dan West was a farmer from the American Midwest and member of the Church of the Brethren who went to the front lines of the Spanish Civil War as an aid worker. His mission was to provide relief, but he soon discovered the meager single cup of milk rationed to the weary refugees once a day was not enough. And then he had a thought: What if they had not a cup, but a cow? That "teach a man to fish" philosophy is what drove West to found Heifer International. And now, nearly 70 years later, that philosophy still inspires our work to end world hunger and poverty throughout the world once and for all.
We empower families to turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity – but our approach is more than just giving them a handout. Heifer links communities and helps bring sustainable agriculture and commerce to areas with a long history of poverty. Our animals provide partners with both food and reliable income, as agricultural products such as milk, eggs and honey can be traded or sold at market. When many families gain this new sustainable income, it brings new opportunities for building schools, creating agricultural cooperatives, forming community savings and funding small businesses.

Nursery (Room 103)
Our Nursery is a short walk from the front door - directly in front of you. Our Nursery is available from 8:00 am to 11:35 am every Sunday. We are blessed to have Oriana as our Nursery staff person. She is a mother of two, and has a background in counseling. New Hope Nursery is committed to providing a safe, nurturing Christian environment for children age birth through 5 years old. There is a changing table in the Nursery that you are welcome to use at any time during worship or Sunday School.

These creative learners get to make art projects, sing action songs, take field trips (around the church), engage in Bible stories, and enjoy interacting with their peers. They are learning that God is alive in our world, and that Jesus lives in their hearts!

Youth (6th-12th grades)
The Youth Sunday School meets in the Celebration Center. The Youth Sunday School provides an open, respectful atmosphere where youth explore how God is working in their daily lives. Youth examine scripture to help them navigate the cultural issues they face today. What does it mean for them to be a Christian in the world today? Youth have a great time learning from challenging games, lively conversation that help them learn, and laughter that reminds them that they are not alone. Students are also invited to join the activities of the the youth group.

"IT'S A MYSTERY"
Every Sunday morning, New Hope has a special "Children's Time" with a Mystery Box. During this time, everyone (including Pastor Rebecca) gets to see what is in the Mystery Box for the first time. It's a surprise! Pastor Rebecca then uses the items in the Mystery Box for her special message to the children.
Following Pastor Rebecca's message, it's exciting to watch many children volunteer to take the Mystery Box home so they can put new, surprise items in it for the next week!
Come see this experience for yourself! The children love being a part of creating this special time during worship, and the congregation loves watching Pastor Rebecca's creativity!
