Rock - A - Thon 2018

Sunday, April 8th from 6 AM - 12 PM @ New Hope Church

Young Hope Youth Group is participating in their first Rock-A-Thon, a creative way to raise money for World Vision’s 30 hour famine event. The money collected goes to help children around the world who are hungry.

So what’s a rock-a-thon? Each youth get pledges for every hour they sit in a rocking chair on April 8th. We are starting at 6 am and going to 12 pm. The rules are simple, the minute the student stands up we stop the clock on their pledges. They will contact you with the results! You can support our youth through either a single donation or an hourly pledge. Please consider supporting this youth as they raise money to help those in need.

What is the 30 Hour Famine Event?  World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine started in the U.S. over 20 years ago as a way for junior high, high school and college-age students to help save – and change – children’s lives. By going without food for 30 hours and raising money to help needy children, young people gain a deeper awareness of the needs in our world and realize that they can play a vital role in making a difference. This event will allow participants to experience hunger pangs and learn powerful lessons of compassion for those who live with hunger daily.

Who is World Vision?  World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. Motivated by their faith in Jesus, they serve the poor as a demonstration of God’s unconditional love for all people. World Vision serves the worlds poor – regardless of a person’s religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. More information about World Vision can be found online at
